We are glad to announce that PAG Yvonne Kumoji-Darko, a member of our club has been appointed as the District Governor Nominee Designate, a position that would see her lead the district as governor for the Rotary year 2020/21.
In a communique to all clubs in district 9102, the district governor Ari Toubo said
“Dear friends, Following my message and in application of the article 14.020.10 of the Manual of procedure, in the absence of candidacy in opposition, I confirm the choice of the commission of nomination of 02 December 2017 and I declare the Rotarian Yvonne Kumoji-Darko of Rotary Club Accra South, Ghana, Appointed Governor, District 9102. Rotary: making a difference”

District Governor Nominee Designate Yvonne Kumoji – Darko is a member of the Rotary Club of Accra South and is loaned the classification Property Development. She was the President of the Rotary Club of Accra South in the Rotary Year 2011/12 where she helped attain 100% PHF, the second Club to attain such status in Ghana at that time.
As Foundation Chair in the year 2015 she helped the club attain Multiple PHF +1, the only Club in the District to hold such status. She has held various positions in her Club: i.e. Fundraising Chair, Treasurer, Sarge-at-arms, Director, Membership Chair and Foundation Chair, Club Trainer. She was also the District Governor’s Special Representative for the formation of the Rotary Club of Accra – Tesano.
She was made an Assistant Governor during the term of PDG Maurice Edorh 2014 -15, Dorothe Gounon 2015-16 and also for the year 2016 -17 under DG Sam Worentetu. She has held various positions within the District and sat on numerous committees. Including;
- District Chair Foundation Fundraising for Ghana 2013 – 15
- championed the WALK FOR ROTARY programme which has been very successful and helped turn around for the better the District’s contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
- Vice Chair Foundation, Ghana, 2016/17, Chair for the Rotary Foundation, Ghana Centennial Concert Celebrations.
- Committee Member West African Project Fair, Accra, 2017.
- Committee Member, Rotary Family Health Days
She was appointed the Special Aide for Past Rotary International Director Sapak Alpay during the Accra Zone Institute in 2017. DGND Yvonne is currently the District 9102 Vice Chair Foundation Ghana and the Club Trainer for the newly formed RC Accra – La East. She has attended 9 district conferences, 10 Rotary International Conferences, 4 Zone Institutes and 1 Presidential Conference.
Awards
DGND Yvonne has been awarded:
- for Distinguished Service from the Directors of the Rotary Foundation in Marrakech in 2014
- The Citation for Meritorious Service from the Trustees of the Rotary Foundation in Mombassa 2015
- DGND Yvonne is a Charter Member of D9102’s Paul Harris Society, a Benefactor and a Major Donor Level 2.
