Membership of the club is currently at a critical stage. Whilst total membership is relatively high, attendance to regular club meetings and other functions has reached a critical low point.
It is so serious that the club has not been able to claim our honorary member, Nana’s token prize of GHc100, when a meeting attendance hits 60%! A few years ago, attendance of about 70% was the norm. Obviously, there is a problem, and it is not only to do with busy schedules. Given that there is an ongoing discussion about removing some current members, and the distinct possibility of that happening, our objective, at year’s end is to ensure that there are no net losses of membership. Our first task, as a committee, will be to find out from members, what is keeping them from attending meetings.
This will be in the form of a self-filling survey and, if necessary, one-on-one interviews. The findings of the survey will determine the strategies to adopt for raising attendance. That notwithstanding, the committee will adopt the following for broad membership attraction and retention:
The role of the Club Administration Committee (CAC) is to conduct activities associated with the effective operations of the club. Its responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following list below:
- Develop committee goals to help achieve the club’s annual goals.
- Organize regular and special programs.
- Manage club member communications and maintain the club website and social media sites.
- Promote fellowship among club members.
- Help the club secretary track club attendance.
To enable the Club Administration Committee accomplish its responsibilities, sub-committees are created to handle various tasks. The sub-committees are:
- The Programs Sub-Committee.
- The Club Trainer.
- The Communications Sub-Committee.
- The Attendance and Fellowship Sub-Committee.
