Toilet Facility for Ave Dakpa SHS

Project Description

Ave Dakpa Senior High School is situated in Ave Dakpa, capital of Akatsi North District. The institution has been in existence for the past 27 years. It currently has:

  • an enrollment of 183 students;
    • fifty-five (55) males and
    • one hundred and twenty-eight (128) females.

The washroom that serves the girls dormitory is extremely dilapidated, hence forcing the ladies find alternative means of easing themselves. The Project Committee believes it will be prudent to provide the ladies with a toilet facility. The main source of water that serves both the school and community is a pond inhabited by crocodiles.

Rotary Business Objectives and Success Criteria

The objective is to give the female students of the school a decent environment and modern toilet facility and teaching aids to equip them in their formative years. Currently the students share a 2-seater KVIP facility.

The benefits of this project will include amongst others:

  • Reduce the waiting time (queues) to use the toilet facilities and free up time to allow the girls focus more on their academic work.
  • Provide a conducive environment for learning through lighting and ventilation in the classroom. This will not only enhance learning but will also make the students more relaxed and productive

The school has designated an area   for the toilet facility and they have promised to take care of them. The school being deprived, will benefit tremendously from this donation.
